Why wasn't the entry/exit order sent to the exchange even though the entry/exit condition was met?

  1. Opposite market depth not available: If any of the legs in the strategy has 0 opposite quantity in the market depth at the time of entry or exit, the orders will not be sent to the exchange. Orders are only sent when there is some opposite depth available for the legs included in the strategy.

Example: Let’s say you added a Nifty 24500 CE 14th Oct sell order in your strategy. When the entry condition is met, the system will check the available buy-side depth (since it’s a sell order). If there is no available buy quantity, the order won’t be sent to the exchange. Refer to the screenshot below, where the buy-side depth is unavailable. If the entry condition is met in this scenario, the order will not be sent to the exchange. The depth cannot be available incase of illiquid contracts.

  1. Strategy is in Paused/Repair state: If your strategy is in Paused/Repair state and the entry/exit conditions are met, then the orders will not be fired. The system does not check for entry/exit conditions of a strategy if the strategy is in a Paused state.
