Aadhaar Card Enrolment Form – Filling instructions
The Indian Government launched the Aadhaar card in 2012. Your Aadhaar number uniquely identifies you and is linked to your demographic and biometric data in a centralized database. Aadhaar is today widely accepted as identity and address proof. Aadhaar card holders can use it to get direct transfer of government subsidies into their bank accounts.
Aadhaar is also useful to complete your KYC (know your customer) formalities for everything from mobile phones to bank accounts.
HOW TO FILL THE AADHAAR CARD FORM?
To apply for Aadhaar card, get the enrolment form either from the nearest enrolment centre or download it from UIDAI website. The form comprises two pages. The first page has 11 fields to be filled, though all are not mandatory. The second page comprises instructions.
THINGS TO REMEMBER BEFORE YOU FILL UP THE AADHAAR CARD FORM:
Before you fill up your Aadhaar card form, you must remember to follow the below mentioned steps:
Step 1: Fill the form in capital letters
Step 2: Do make too many edits. Make sure that your details are legible
Step 3: Before filling the form, read instructions on page 2
Step 4: The details in the documents of proof you submit should match the details you enter
WHAT ARE THE IMPORTANT AADHAAR DETAILS TO BE FILLED IN THE ENROLMENT FORM?
You must remember to follow the below mentioned Aadhaar details while filling up the enrollment form:
Step 1: Full Name
Step 2: Gender
Step 3: Date of birth
Step 4: Address: Your Aadhaar card will be delivered to the address mentioned here. In case you are living with a relative, provide their address. In the address bar, there are also options to add your mobile number and email id
Step 5: Family members’ details
Step 6: National Population Register (NPR)/ Tax Identification Number (TIN): Provide these if you have them
Step 7: Consent: You should tick mark this option if you want UIDAI to share your demographic details with the government agencies. Select the cross mark, if you do not wish to share the details
Step 8: Bank Account: You can link your existing bank account with Aadhaar card here or can open a new Aadhaar bank account. It is an optional field
Step 9: Documents: Keep the relevant documents of proof ready like address and identity (PAN card, Voter ID, passport)
Step 10: Introducer: If you do not have identity and address proof, you can use the introducer’s or family member’s details to enrol for Aadhaar card
Step 11: Signature: Sign the form or affix your thumbprint
HOW TO SUBMIT THE AADHAAR CARD FORM ONLINE?
You can submit your Aadhaar card form online by following the below mentioned steps:
Step 1: Download the Aadhaar enrolment form: https://uidai.gov.in/images/aadhaar_enrolment_correction_form_version_2.1.pdf
Step 2: Find an Aadhaar enrolment centre near you. For tier 1 cities check the details here: https://uidai.gov.in/images/Tier1_Cities_PECs.pdf. For other cities, check the details here: https://appointments.uidai.gov.in/easearch.aspx.
Step 3: Fill the enrolment form as mentioned above
Step 4: Submit the form along with supporting identity and address proof to the enrolment officer
Step 5: The enrolment officer will take your biometrics: iris scan and fingerprint
Step 6: The enrolment executive will also take your photograph
Step 7: Collect the acknowledgement slip containing the 14-digit number from the enrolment officer
Step 8: Check the status of your Aadhaar card with the help of the 14-digit enrolment number here:
. If generated, you can download the e-Aadhaar in PDF format. Print the copy and it will work as an original copy until the hard copy arrives
Step 9: Your Aadhaar card physical copy will take about 90 days to reach your residence
