Special live trading session on Saturday, May 18, 2024 by NSE and BSE in the Equity and F&O (Futures and Options) segments.
Why is there a live session on a Saturday?
SEBI mandates stock exchanges to switch to their Disaster Recovery site in a live session as part of their business continuity plan. This ensures they have a robust backup system in place to maintain smooth operations in case of any disruptions.
This session will be conducted in two parts as mentioned below:

Please remember the following points while trading on 18th May:
- All pending orders (open orders) from session 1 will be cancelled before the opening of second trading session. You will need to place all orders again in session 2 which remain unexecuted in session 1. This behavior is similar to trading on two different days.
- Intraday orders (MIS, Cover order and Bracket order) will not be allowed for both equity and F&O segment and stop loss orders are not carried forward.
- AMO placed on Friday will execute on Saturday.
- Currency and Commodity markets will stay closed.
- SIP scheduled for 18th May will not be executed during the special live trading session.
- For Stockcase and Sipit, SIP orders scheduled on 18th May will be processed on 21st May. Orders placed during the market hour window on 18th May will be processed as usual.
