Mangalore Refinery And Petrochemicals Ltd (MRPL) is a prominent player in the oil refining and petrochemical industry. The company primarily engages in refining crude oil to produce a wide range of petroleum products including diesel, petrol, and other petrochemical products. MRPL is a subsidiary of Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited (ONGC), which is a major state-owned oil and gas company in India. The company operates one of India's largest and most complex refineries, situated in Mangalore, Karnataka. MRPL has been focusing on expanding its refining capacity and enhancing its product portfolio to cater to both domestic and international markets. Recent developments have seen the company exploring various strategies to improve operational efficiency and expand its market presence.

During the fourth quarter of fiscal year 2025 (Q4FY25), Mangalore Refinery And Petrochemicals Ltd reported a total income of ₹25,367.94 crores. This represents a significant increase of 15.8% compared to the previous quarter (Q3FY25), where the total income stood at ₹21,904.18 crores. However, when compared to the same quarter in the previous fiscal year (Q4FY24), there is a minor decrease of 0.5%, with the total income for that period being ₹25,486.96 crores. The revenue performance reflects the company's operational scale and market dynamics over the periods in question.

In Q4FY25, the company's profit before tax amounted to ₹1,765.92 crores, marking a substantial quarter-over-quarter increase of 276.2% from ₹469.35 crores in Q3FY25. However, on a year-over-year basis, there is a notable decline of 40.1% compared to ₹2,950.03 crores in Q4FY24. The profit after tax for Q4FY25 was ₹1,138.50 crores, which also saw a significant quarter-over-quarter increase of 268.1% from ₹309.30 crores in Q3FY25, but a year-over-year decline of 40.5% from ₹1,913.35 crores in Q4FY24. Earnings per share (EPS) in Q4FY25 was ₹6.50, up from ₹1.80 in Q3FY25, representing a 261.1% increase, yet reflecting a 40.4% decrease from ₹10.90 in Q4FY24.

The operating expenses for MRPL in Q4FY25 were ₹23,593.73 crores, which shows a quarter-over-quarter increase of 10.1% from ₹21,434.83 crores in Q3FY25. On a year-over-year basis, total expenses increased by 4.7% from ₹22,536.93 crores in Q4FY24. The tax expenses for Q4FY25 amounted to ₹629.08 crores, depicting a quarter-over-quarter increase of 280.9% from ₹165.16 crores in Q3FY25 and a year-over-year decrease of 39.6% from ₹1,042.05 crores in Q4FY24. These financial figures indicate changes in the company's cost structure and tax liabilities over the analyzed periods.
