How can I place stop loss orders using an AMO?

Any order which is placed after the post closing session, i.e. 4:00 pm and before market pre-open on the next day, i.e. 9:00 am is sent as an After-Market Order (AMO).

In the Kotak Stock Trading App/ Website and Kotak NEO, there is no separate order type for After-Market Orders. It is sent just like a regular order.

Choose a platform
  • In Kotak NEO, select “set price limit” or “market price” to send a limit or market order respectively.
  • Enable “Add Stop Loss Trigger” with a defined trigger price to send a stop loss order.

In order to place a stop-loss AMO order in Kotak Stock Trading App App / Website, select either “SL-LIMIT” or “SL-MARKET” as the Order Type.

SL-Market Order → First leg is a Market order while the second leg is a Stop Loss order

SL-Limit Order → First leg is a limit order while the second leg is a Stop Loss order
