Hyundai Motor Company was founded by Chung Ju‑Yung on December 29, 1967, and is headquartered in Seoul, South Korea. The Indian subsidiary, Hyundai Motor India, was incorporated on May 6, 1996, with its registered office in Kancheepuram, Tamil Nadu. Hyundai is listed on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE: 544274) and National Stock Exchange (NSE: HYUNDAIEQ) in India, and its parent is publicly traded in South Korea.
