What is PINS account?

PINS (Portfolio Investment Scheme) is a scheme of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) under which the NRIs can buy and sell shares, on a recognized stock exchange in India by routing all such purchase/sale transactions through their account held with a designated bank branch also known as the authorized dealer.

Trading account for NRI is always linked to the PINS account.
