NBCC Company background
NBCC (India) Limited was incorporated in 1960 as a wholly owned PSU under the Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs. Headquartered in New Delhi, it operates nationally through 31 regional offices and internationally across Middle East and African nations. Promoted by the Government of India, NBCC is listed on both NSE (NBCC) and BSE (504058). Core businesses include Project Management Consultancy (PMC), Engineering, Procurement & Construction (EPC), and Real Estate Development, delivering infrastructure, redevelopment, and construction services.
NBCC Business Segments and Revenue Model
NBCC generates revenue chiefly through three verticals.
- Project Management Consultancy (PMC): Constitutes around 92-93% of turnover. NBCC oversees planning to execution – redevelopment of government colonies, infrastructure projects, industrial facilities, hospitals, airports, and institutions.
- Engineering, Procurement & Construction (EPC): Makes up approximately 6% of revenue. Involves construction of civil and structural works like power-sector cooling towers, chimneys, and buildings.
- Real Estate Development: About 1-2% of turnover. Focused on developing township, residential, and commercial real estate, often via land monetisation during redevelopment (e.g., GPRA colonies at New Moti Bagh).
Revenue primarily comes from government contracts, redevelopment consultancy fees, and proceeds from developed land parcels.
