Why is there a difference between last traded price and closing price on NSE?

The last traded price (LTP) most of the time differs from the closing price because the latter on NSE is the weighted average price of the last 30 minutes of the trading day. LTP of the day is the actual last traded price.

This difference will be more if the market movement is frequent in the last 30 minutes of the trading day.
