The average price of your MTF holdings shown in the Investments section includes brokerage and other charges. In contrast, the average price displayed in the Positions section does not include these charges. As a result, you may notice a slight difference between the two.
Additionally, if you have squared off (sold) part of your MTF holdings at any point, the average price in the Positions section is recalculated by adjusting your buy trades on an average price basis.
For eg. On day 1, 100 shares of ABCD Ltd., were bought at Rs 10. On day 2, 100 shares of ABCD Ltd., were bought at price of Rs. 12. In Positions, you will have 200 shares with avg. price of Rs. 11. On day 3, 50 shares are sold at Rs. 13. In such case, the profit transferred to your Non MTF ledger will be computed as Qty*(Sell price – Avg. Price) i.e. 50*(13-11) = 100 and remaining position of 150 shares will continue with avg. price of Rs. 11.
