What should I do if the registration fails?
UPI registration can fail due to a few common reasons:
- Your mobile number is not linked to your bank account
- Poor or unstable internet connection
- Insufficient SMS balance on your SIM
- SMS permission or Phone State permission not granted
- Mobile number mismatch between device and bank records
- Temporary issues at the bank or UPI provider's end
To ensure successful registration:
- Make sure the SIM linked to your bank account (Kotak Neo registered bank account) is inserted and active on your phone
- Keep enough SMS balance to send a verification message
- Grant SMS and Phone permissions when prompted
- Use a stable internet connection (Wi-Fi or mobile data)
These steps help the app securely verify your number and complete UPI setup as per the process defined by your bank and regulated entities like NPCI.
