I already set up UPI before-why is the app asking me to register again and give permissions?

Sometimes, the app may need to restart the UPI registration process to keep your information secure and up to date. This can happen in the following cases:

  • You changed or reinserted your SIM card
  • You switched to a new phone
  • The app was uninstalled and reinstalled
  • App data was cleared from your device settings
  • Your mobile number changed or was re-verified by the bank
  • There was an update in UPI security policies by your bank or regulatory authorities In these cases, we ask for Phone and SMS permissions again only during registration, so we can re-verify your number safely and securely.

This process is standard and is defined by NPCI and your bank to protect your account and ensure safe, secure transactions.
