Will I be allowed to trade in NSE Crudeoil Option Contracts on Expiry Day ?
Yes, All NSE Crude Oil Options contracts will remain available for trading until 8:00 PM on the expiry day. To avoid the risk of devolvement into futures, RMS will square off all open long and short positions after 8:00 PM, irrespective of margin availability.
In rare situations where sufficient liquidity is not available, positions may remain open and could be carried forward to the next trading day, which may result in devolvement into a futures contract. Alternatively, Kotak Securities may instruct the exchange to not exercise long / short options that remain open at expiry, which may result in the buy option position being settled at zero value, thereby leading to a loss of the total premium paid.
