1. How to place Purchase / Additional Purchase request?
A.

  1. Go to www.kotaksecurities.com > Mutual funds > Place order
  2. Select "Holding pattern-id"
  3. Select "AMC" name - you wish to invest in
  4. Select Scheme" name - you wish to invest in
  5. Select "Folio no" - you wish to invest in
  6. Click "Place order" button
  7. Enter the amount you wish invest in the scheme.
  8. in case of Dividend scheme, select Dividend option (payout / reinvest)
  9. Accept the Mutual funds Terms & Conditions
  10. An order acknowledgement page appears displaying order number. Please preserve the same for tracking the order status and the click Ok button
For successful placement & processing please ensure the following:
  • Sufficient funds balance in your Mutual Fund -ledger with kotaksecurities.com
  • You should be KYC Compliant. - If not KYC compliant please get in touch with nearest POS and get you KYC details registered.
  • PAN details displayed on Place Order page are correct - If it is incorrect, please get in touch with the nearest Kotak Securities branch and place the request for correction.

2. Where can I check the status of my online order?
A.

You can check the status of your online mutual funds order at www.kotaksecurities.com > Mutual Funds > check order status.

3. Where can I check the units allotted for the online investment order placed through www.kotaksecurities.com?
A.

Allotment of mutual funds units are updated in Mutual funds Portfolio Tracker available in the Mutual funds section. Please note that allotment is subject to the confirmation feeds received from AMC or its registrar.

4. How can I view list of new funds offerings schemes at place order pages?
A.

  1. Select "Scheme type wise" radio button at Place Order page
  2. Select transaction type as "Purchase"
  3. Select Fund/scheme type as "New funds offering"
  4. You will be displayed with a list of active new funds offering schemes in "Schemes Available" drop list.

5. How to place Redemption request?
A.

  1. Go to www.kotaksecurities.com > Mutual funds > Place order
  2. Select "Holding pattern-id"
  3. Select "AMC" name - you wish to redeem from
  4. Select Scheme" name - you wish to redeem from
  5. Select "Folio no" - you wish to redeem from
  6. Click "Place order" button
  7. Select appropriate redemption option - "by Amount", "by units" or "All units"
    a. If by Amount - enter amount you wish to redeem
    b. If by Units - enter number of units you wish to redeem
    c. If All units - no need to enter value.
  8. Click place order
  9. Accept the Mutual funds Terms & Conditions
  10. An order acknowledgement page appears displaying order number. Please save the order number for tracking the order status and then click on Ok
In case of "Redeem by Amount" - please note that if the value of the holdings falls below the requested "redemption amount" on the date of redemption then your order is likely to be rejected by AMC on account of insufficient unit balance. Hence it is advisable to "redeem by units".

6. Where can I check the credit of redemption proceeds?
A.

Redemption proceeds shall be credited in your bank account which is linked to your trading account. There are few AMCs which do not offer Direct credit facility to few banks. If this is the case, you may receive the redemption proceeds through Demand draft / cheque at your residential address updated in your KYC profile with CVL.

7. By what time will the Redemption proceeds be credited to My bank account?
A.

For Equity Funds - it takes 3 working days from the day of processing
For Debt Funds - it takes 2 working days from the day of processing
For Liquid Funds - it takes 1 working days from the day of processing


8. I received a Redemption / Dividend proceeds vide cheque but bank details mentioned are not valid / are out dated.
A.

In such a case, please write a request letter to revalidate the cheque with new/correct bank details and submit the request with the supporting documents mentioned below to the nearest branch of Kotak Securities.

  1. Client request letter
  2. Original redemption/dividend cheque received by client.
  3. Cancelled cheque leaf copy of old bank account
  4. Cancelled cheque leaf copy of NEW bank account
  5. Banker's verification letter with stamp & signature of banker
Please note that the request letter should be duly signed by all the holders & it takes 10 working days for revalidation process. The revalidated cheque shall be sent by AMC/Registrar directly to your registered address.

9. What document should be submitted in case of redemption / dividend cheque with an expired cheque date?
A.

  • Client request letter
  • Original redemption/dividend cheque so received by client.

10. What is Cut-off time & NAV applicability?
A.

Cut-off time is a time till when the order is accepted on our website or at the AMC. There are two types of cut-off time i.e. Site cut-off time & Scheme cut-off time.
Site Cut-off time means the time up to which the orders in Mutual Funds are accepted on the site for processing at the current day's applicable NAV. It varies from agent to agent based on their internal process arrangements.
Scheme Cut-Off time means the time up to which the orders in Mutual Fund are accepted by the AMC for processing at the current day's applicable NAV.i.e. Kotak has to submit the trades to the AMC by this time. It is a standard time decided by regulatory authorities and is followed across industry for all modes of Mutual funds transactions.

Cut-off times for various funds types at www.kotaksecurities.com are as follows:
Order received before/by the cut-off on the working days, shall be processed on the same day and will be eligible for Nav as follows:

  • Transactions in Liquid schemes are assigned with NAV of the day previous to processing day.
  • Transactions in other non-liquid schemes are assigned with processing day's NAV which is declared post 7:00 PM on processing day.
11. How do I place an SIP request?
A.

SIP request can be placed only in those schemes which offer an SIP facility

  1. Go to www.kotaksecurities.com > Mutual funds > Place order
  2. Select "Holding pattern-id"
  3. Select transaction type as "Systematic Investment Plan"
  4. Select "AMC" name - you wish to start SIP with
  5. Select Scheme" name - you wish to start SIP with
  6. Select "Folio no" - you wish to start SIP with
  7. Click "Place order" button
  8. You will be displayed an order entry page with information on SIP Frequency, minimum SIP amount, Minimum number of SIP installment. considering the information display you need to follow further steps:
  9. a. Enter "per installment amount" you wish to invest.
    b. Start date from when the installment should be started.
    c. Number of installment you wish to invest.
    d. Accept the Mutual funds Terms & Conditions
    e. An order acknowledgement page appears displaying order number. Please save the order number for tracking the order status and the click on Ok
Unlike a purchase order, you can place an SIP request even though you have insufficient funds in your Mutual funds ledger with Kotak Securities at this stage. But you should ensure that sufficient funds are available on every due date by cut-off time else your SIP investment will be skipped for that month/due date.

12. Is there any penalty if an SIP installment is skipped?
A.

As of now there is no penalty.

13. How do I place an STP request?
A.

STP request can be placed only in those schemes which offer STP-out facility

  1. Go to www.kotaksecurities.com > Mutual funds > Place order
  2. Select "Holding pattern-id"
  3. Select transaction type as "Systematic Transfer Plan"
  4. Select "AMC" name - you wish to start STP with
  5. Select Scheme" name - you wish to start STP with
  6. Select "Folio no" - you wish to start STP with
  7. Click on "Place order" button
  8. You will be displayed an order entry page with information on STP Frequency, minimum STP amount, Minimum number of STP installment. Considering the information displayed you need to follow further steps:
  9. Select start date of STP
  10. Enter "per installment amount" you wish to switch to other scheme.
  11. Enter number of installment you wish register
  12. Select Switch in scheme.
  13. Select Dividend option I.e. payout or reinvest, if any.
  14. Click place order
  15. Accept the Mutual funds Terms & Conditions
  16. An order acknowledgement page appears displaying order number. Please save the order number for tracking the order status and then click on Ok .

14. Can I modify my SIP/ STP request?
A.

Yes, but it can be modified only up to the SIP start date.
Post "SIP Start date", you cannot modify the existing SIP request; you need to close the existing SIP & register a fresh SIP request.

15. Can I discontinue my existing SIP/STP installments?
A.

Yes you can close your SIP/STP request at any time

16. How to modify SIP/STP requests?
A.

  1. Go to www.kotaksecurities.com > Mutual funds > View SIP /STP request
  2. Select appropriate SIP/STP request you wish to modify.
  3. Click modify button.
  4. You will be displayed with order entry page
  5. Enter details like amount, frequency, installment, due date.
  6. Click on place order.
  7. An order acknowledgement page appears displaying order number. Please save the order number for tracking the order status and the click on Ok

17. How do I cancel SIP/STP requests?
A.

  1. Go to www.kotaksecurities.com > Mutual funds > View SIP /STP request
  2. Select appropriate SIP/STP request you wish to cancel
  3. Click "Cancel" button

18. Do I need to transfer the funds on the due date of an SIP ? What are the ways to transfer to funds?
A.

Yes, you need to transfer the funds in your Mutual funds ledger available with kotaksecurities.com. The modes through which you can transfer the funds are as follows:

  1. Online transfer through your bank using money transfer link of www.kotaksecurities.com
  2. Transfer the funds from your Equity ledger to Mutual funds ledger through money transfer link at www. kotaksecurities.com.
  3. If your trading account linked bank account is Kotak Mahindra Bank ltd, then you can register for "Auto-debit" request through www.kotaksecurities.com. The details process flow is mentioned in the later phase of this document.

19. How can I remember the SIP / STP due dates?
A.

To assist you in remembering the due dates of your various SIP requests, you shall receive SIP reminder emails on your email-id registered with us 2 days prior to the SIP due date .We have also taken an initiative to send SIP due-date reminder messages which you shall receive one day prior to the due date.

20. On what grounds can my SIP order get skipped?
A.

There are two instances based on which your SIP/STP get skipped.

  • Insufficient funds in your mutual funds ledger on SIP due date
  • Mutual funds KYC status is "Invalid", "on HOLD" or "Rejected"

  • 21. On what grounds can my STP order get skipped?
    A.

    There are two instances based on which your SIP/STP get skipped.

    1. Insufficient unit balance in your online mutual funds portfolio with Kotak Securities on "STP due date"
    2. Mutual funds KYC status is "Invalid", "on HOLD" or "Rejected"

    22. Will my SIP request get discontinued if my SIP order get skipped?
    A.

    If number of skipped SIP installment reaches the minimum limits as prescribed by AMC then your SIP shall get closed automatically.
    You will be sent a notification on the subject of SIP closure.

    23. How can I view list of current new funds offerings at place order pages?
    A.

    1. Select "Scheme type wise" radio button at place order page
    2. Select transaction type as "Purchase"
    3. Select Fund/scheme type as "New funds offering"
    4. You will be displayed with list of active new funds offering schemes in "schemes available" drop list.

    24. How can I register for Auto-Debit feature?
    A.

    You can register for Auto-Debit online through www.kotaksecurities.com

    25. What is the step by step process to register for Auto-Debit?
    A.

    - Go to www.kotaksecurities.com>Mutual Funds>Auto-Debit
    - Click on "click here to register"
    - Fill in the required details & click on "Place Order"
    - A PDF document will be generated>Take a print> Sign at the requisite places
    - Courier the document at the address mentioned under "Notes" in PDF Document


    26. Are there any charges to avail of the feature of Auto-Debit?
    A.

    The charges below are levied by the Bank and are debited from your bank account.

    27. What are the benefits of registering for Auto-Debit?
    A.

    1. No need to keep a track of your SIP due date
    2. No need to ensure funds transfer manually every time before SIP due-date
    3. You can place a single lump sum Auto-Debit request for all the SIPs
    4. Zero SIP default by ensuring timely fund transfer before SIP due date

    28. I have an ICICI Bank account as my mapped-in account, can I still register for Auto-Debit?
    A.

    The feature of Auto-Debit is currently available only for Kotak Mahindra Bank customers.

    29. Being an NRI investor where can I get TDS certificate?
    A.

    TDS certificate are issued directly by the AMC or its registrar and are sent to the client's correspondence address as updated in AMC profile or in Mutual funds KYC registered with CVL.
